The Country Guesthouse Colle sul Lago is halfway between Rome and Florence right on the border between Umbria and Tuscany.
Our hill oversees the Lake of Montepulciano, a natural reserve only crossed by rowing boats inhabited by protected plants, fishes and birds. We are on a country lane that serves two small villages only. The main building is a typical old farmhouse built in the XIX century. It has been restored and refurbished with care a few ears ago.

Nearby there is the “Solitudine” (the Solitude), a detached country house surrounded by trees on the edge of the forest. In the surrounding garden you can find the swimming pool (12x6m), a gazebo, three barbecues and the children outdoor area. A covered parking area, two common rooms and a launderette are also available. Solar panels heat the water in the establishment. A little farther, among the lime trees and the cypresses, rises the owners’ unique and romantic “Liberty” villa.

The estate includes an orchard, a vineyard and a wood (about 2 hectares) of ancient oaks, ilexes and pine trees, rich in romantic spots and crossed by sloping paths leading to the lake about 100 yards away. Sunsets turn the sky and the lake to a stunning red. At night, thanks to the purity of the air, thousands of stars appear to the naked eye and in the June evenings several fireflies dance in the dark.
